Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take me to get my router up and running?

If you have used a CNC router before you can be up and running as soon as you plug it in. However, if CNC is a new world to you we advise you to allow some time to get to know your machine. Of course we will help you every step of the way and can easily arrange for training at a reasonable cost to reduce the learning curve.

I don't want to spend the extra money for a (vacuum hold down, tool changer, etc.) Can I add this later?

Absolutely. All of our upgrades can be retrofitted at a later date.

Do your routers have servo or stepper motors?

Our standard packages have advanced micro-stepper motors, which for all practical purposes rival the speed and accuracy of servos. Micro-stepper motors are more than sufficient to handle any task you'll encounter, they also require less maintenance than servo motors. However, if you want a servo motor let us know we can easily equip your router with servo for a slightly higher cost.

Why are your routers so inexpensive?

We want your business. There are plenty of manufacturer's charging tens of thousands more than we do. (There are just as many selling "kit" routers for more than we do.) However, there aren't many offering quality industrial CNC routers at an affordable price. That's our goal.

How are you able to offer a router system with the same or better specifications as systems costing $30,000 to $50,000 at such a drastically lower price?

Many of the "high-end" manufacturers are too firmly entrenched in costly and inefficient manufacturing processes. It's perhaps human nature to settle for the way "things have always been." and if your process is "good enough" there's little incentive to change it. Change can be scary and expensive for these companies and until competition forces their hand they will continue to charge unrealistic prices. Few would argue that the global marketplace has undergone a dynamic shift in the recent past. Competition is more fierce than it's ever been. However, the winner in this competition is the consumer. We at Vortech Routers have positioned ourselves to take advantage of these empowering changes. We are not satisfied with "good enough" We are constantly upgrading and improving our operations and in order to run as efficiently as possible. You see this efficiency reflected in our prices!

How much room do I need in my shop to operate this router?

We suggest a minimum of two feet on all sides of the router.

What about electrical requirements.

Electrical requirements may vary by model. Your salesperson will provide you with necessary requirements.

How long will it take to receive my router?

If the model is in stock at time of purchase, shipping time is approximately 10 Days. If your router is built to order; build, test, and crate time is approximately 35 days. Accessories such as Tool Changers and Vacuum Systems add to the build time as required. Ship times vary by distance of receiving location.
